Overlord Anime Review Pt. 1

Name: Overlord
Media: Anime
MAL Score: 8.06/10, 7.92/10, 8.11/10
Episodes: 36 (total in 3 seasons)
Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Game, Magic, Supernatural

This review will be divided into two parts, as I cannot fit everything I want to tell about this masterpiece in one review. So in this part I will be talking about the story and characters. The review contains some spoilers, so watch out. Enjoy!

Summary

Video games have always served as a way for people to entertain themselves, a way to pass one’s time, and for others as a means to escape from real life and immerse themself in a world where one can live and do as one desires to.
Adapted from the light novel of Kugane Maruyama, Overlord follows the sudden change of reality for the character Momonga as he suddenly finds himself in a new world together with a team of former NPCs turned into fanatically loyal servants in tow, with his life about to suddenly change in a way never thought possible.

The setting

Initially set in the late 2130s, the story follows the character Momonga who had chosen to stay online during the last hour of service for the DMMO-RPG (Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) Yggdrasil, which was to shut down its servers following a decade of service, only to wake up in a new and unknown world as the ingame character he had been playing as. Waking up alongside him in this unknown world, given consciousness and life, are the many servants and former NPCs of the guild he was in, along with the great tomb that housed it during the service of Yggdrasil.
Through the adventures and exploits of the former salaryman Momonga and his following of fanatically loyal servants goes through in this new and strange world they are finding themselves in, the show’s plot progression introduces the viewer to the world’s many factions and the people who are members of them.

With a deep world building from start to finish, a thing that in my eyes manages to set the story of Overlord apart from the crowd and ranks of isekai stories, is through how it handles the many elements of its story and the qualities of its characters, able to keep their offence capabilities balanced through providing the characters with built-in flaws in their personalities which can be used as a means to lower their guard if figured out.

The characters

What truly can make or break a story like the one Overlord is working with, is most importantly what sort of characters that is introduced in it as it progresses through the story’s plot, along with how these characters evolve along it. From Momonga, the guild master and ruler of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, the fanatically faithful followers in the former npcs under him, to the humans and beings of the new world our main characters were put into, each character we are given not only serve a purpose within the story but also has qualities that doesn’t cause them to significantly overlap with the rest.

With a highly diverse cast introduced across and throughout the series’ episodes and factions, the viewer is given a look into how the events that occur not only benefits the denizens of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, but also into how they affect the lives of those around them as they solidify their position within the new world. While the majority of the characters go through heavy development, the one who evolves the most is the character of Momonga, a person who himself doesn’t feel he fits well in a leadership position being forced into a tough and difficult situation as he is suddenly required to act as the supreme being his underlings regards him as, taking the name of the guild he and his friends labored so hard to create as his own, evolving through the encounters and situations that he gets thrown into and involved with.

That’s all for now, the second part will be posted really soon, so stay tuned!

Great Teacher Onizuka Anime Review

Media: Anime
Name: Great Teacher Onizuka
MAL Score: 8.72/10
Episodes: 43
Genres: Comedy, Drama, School, Shounen, Slice of Life

Introduction

I don’t usually watch any school-related or slice-of-life anime, since they don’t usually show anything interesting and just copy each other. But there is one pretty old title I would like to talk about this time. This anime was one of my first I have watched back on TV and that was a pure fun. It is “Great Teacher Onizuka”, released by Studio Pierrot, that took part in producing most popular titles like Naruto, Bleach, Belzebub, Tokyo Ghoul and etc.

The setting

The story is about a former biker gang leader Eikichi Onizuka, who has decided to start a new life of a normal person to find some sweet girls. And for that idea he has aimed to become the greatest teacher – teachers are always in contact with some cute high-school girls, so why not. But when he takes the position, he actually finds out that it is not easy to just teach pupils. He is assigned to the worst class in terms of behavior, that want to drive the new class teacher out. Unfortunately, Onizuka is not a normal one, huh.

Onizuka’s Teaching Style

The show is filled with a big number of lewd jokes, humour in general, but it mixes with the story overall and school environment so much. Despite Onizuka being a full pervert and a bad person overall, he teaches the students in his own way, and that way works! He slowly makes the whole class change their attitude towards the teachers and become friends with him. And this opens different opportunities to Onizuka himself, so that is a win-win.

But what about design?

The design there is quite ok, since the show has aired in 1999-2000. That is, you can say, the classics, that is how most shows have been drawn at that time, so I don’t really mind it. You can see this art in early series of Naruto or even Evangelion, and that is why for people, who grew on those shows, this might hook up. Also I cannot say anything about the OST, since it is pretty normal. But that normalty perfectly fits in describing the everyday school life.

Conclusion

Overall, GTO is a perfect example of a good slice of life/school show with a good amount of humour, which doesn’t lose its sharm and keeps on entertaining people. I eagerly recommend it for everyone to watch it – it doesn’t have any action or fights, so just relax and have fun.

Mahoutsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus’ Bride) Anime Review

Name: Mahoutsukai no Yome
Media: Anime
MAL Score: 8.21
Episode Count: 24
Genres: Slice of Life, Fantasy, Magic, Shounen

May contain story related spoilers for the Mahoutsukai no Yome anime ahead.

Summary

As the Fall 2017 anime season came around, a certain show caught my interest as I had recently read the ongoing manga it was adapted. This show was Mahoutsukai no Yome, being adapted from the manga of Kore Yamazaki into an anime by Wit Studio.

The story follows the 15 year old japanese girl Chise Hatori, who due to the events of her past has given up her own freedom by offering herself up for auction. When a mysterious figure named Elias makes the winning bid, her life is about to change in a way she may have never thought of before.

Story

Set in modern day England, the story follows the character Chise Hatori and her life living with her teacher Elias Ainsworth, a centuries old magus, who at the very start of the series bought Chise at an auction house of magi and sorcerers. This act might initially get the viewer to think dark topics involving slaves might be a part of the series. However, these thoughts are quickly removed as the events goes on and the plot of the show unfolds further.

The story and world building this series brings with it is nothing short of fantastic. It manages to flesh out the world and events that its characters run into while preventing the air from going stale throughout it. Through these characters we get introduced to the way fae and magi interact, assist, and live with each other through their day to day business, built on respect between both parts involved.

A thing that the show manages to do perfectly as the story and plot goes on during the first 3/4ths of the show, is never allowing for the scales and balancing of events to sway too much in either direction, answering periods of bright moments with equally dark moments, both progressing the story and opening up the world to the viewer in both its past and current time, while building up to the eventual culmination of the show in the final part and end of the series.

The characters

What I feel the show does better than the source material it was raised from is the fleshing out of its characters as their story evolves through it. That feels easier to notice with the impact the voice actors has on them. With a highly diverse cast of characters each serving their own position in the story, the show manages to keep them all relevant without causing an overlap in what each character does to progress the story.

As the story evolves with each episode, the biggest character developments can found be with our two main characters. On the one hand, Elias learns to understand the meaning of emotions previously unknown to him that he begins to experience as time goes on. On the other hand, Chise evolving into the character she is meant to be, earning her the sense of belonging she has needed and longed for since her early life.

Art & Soundtrack

Throughout the show the hard labor brought into the adaptation of the source manga for TV shines through clear as day in the artistic efforts provided by the staff working on it, giving the show amazing visuals of the bright idyllic landscapes of the english countryside, the busy everyday life in the streets of London, and the magical world of the shows fairy-like beings. Again and again as every episode goes by, the dedication put into the making of the show by Wit Studio never falters.

Through the characters designs, the world’s environmental designs, and the amazing efforts on everything from even the smallest to the largest of details, The Ancient Magus’ Bride earns its place as one of the few masterpieces of the season. A notable example of the dedication given to this series by the arts team behind it can be seen in the sequence for the phoenix transformation of episode 12, and in moments throughout the show where magic is being performed by the magi and fairies.

As a match to fit with the artistic efforts brought on by the staff at Wit Studio, the sound design and voice acting lies at a level equal to that of the art design itself, bringing life to the world created by Kore Yamazaki with OST soundtracks that even on their own are quite enjoyable and fits in perfectly with the setting, the time in which the story takes place, and during the events of the show as they happen.

Conclusion

Originally having read the manga that this show was adapted from, going into the anime I already had a feeling of what I was going to see come out of it and already had some reservations about what my opinion on it would be, while hoping Wit Studio would not just adapt the manga but also give color, life, and sound to what was already a fantastic story. These reservations were soon blown away by how fantastic the adapting had been done, pulling me deeper into the show and story within than the manga initially managed to do.

With the story, character progression, amazing animations and soundtracks being on point throughout the show and managing to successfully bring the life and magic to the show that I was hoping for, my final score for the show overall is going to be a 9,5 out of 10, and will be giving my recommendations for others to check this show out for themselves.

Psycho Pass Season 1 Anime Review

Media: Anime
Name: Psycho Pass
MAL Score:8.43/10
Episodes:22
Genres: Action, Police, Psychological, Sci-fi

About Psycho Pass

The justice and enforcement of it, has changed. In the 22nd century, Japan brings out the sibyl system which purpose is to determinate each citizens threat level by their mental state for signs of criminal intent, which is called Psycho-Pass. The Inspectors which work for the Public Safety Bureau uphold the law by taking care of the criminals with lethal force, harboring the slightest ill-will; alongside them are the Enforcers, Inspectors that have become latent criminals, granted freedom for carrying out the Inspectors’ dirty work.

The main protagonist is Akane Tsunemori, a young woman for her desire to uphold justice being the only being able to be a Inspector from the tests. She thinks if it is the right choice for her to be a Inspector and does she deserve it really. She is working alongside an Enforcer Shinya Kougami, she starts to realise the sibyl system judgment may not be perfect as the other Inspectors assume. With that Akane wrestles with question what the justice truly is, and whether it can be upheld through the system that may be already corrupt.

The Sibyl System revolves around each citizens mental state and their intent. Doing crimes or something illegal will raise the Psycho Pass rate by some amount. When criminal rate is 100 target is seen with non lethal method of taking them out and the possibility of mental care which can fix their Psycho Pass ratings back to normal state. Targets with the 300 Criminal rating are seen as lethal action and latent criminals which have done more serious crimes that sibyl has seen.

Thoughts

Psycho Pass is an interesting anime which is done with a decent plot and makes you want to really watch it. Characters having their own depth and uniques that they have. Akane trying to find the true answer what sibyl is and does it actually tell the truth. The animations and use CGI is something they did well enough.

My own experience what i got from watching Psycho Pass was enjoyable and exciting. I loved the opening and ending how they did that. The anime had its moments of excitement and humour mixed in there being a person who also loves these police or Sci-fi types was a good fit for me

My final rating of this anime is 9 out of 10. The art, CGI and the way they used music fit nicely together while also making a decent plot. The anime making you think about stuff. Seeing how Akane stays strong and seeks for the answer.

Re:Zero Starting Life In Another World Anime Review

Media: Anime
Name: Re:Zero Starting Life In Another World
MAL Score: 8.38/10
Episodes: 25
Genres: Drama, Fantasy, Psychological, Thriller, Isekai.

Only minor spoilers included

Re:Zero Starting Life In Another World aired from 4 apr 2016 – 19 sept 2016 and consist of 25 thrilling episodes. The anime was produced by Studio Whitefox and is another anime of the popular Isekai genre.

Story

The story starts off with our protagonist Subaru taking a stop at the local gas station when he is suddenly teleported into a fantasy medieval like word. It didn’t take long for Subaru to get himself robbed but luckily, a silver haired woman that calls herself Satella saves Subaru just in time. To repay Subaru decides to repay her kindness by helping Satella finding an insignia that was stolen from her. This results in them getting into a bloody death only for Subaru to discover his power of return by death. He uses this to return to a previous point on his timeline, which allows him to correct his mistakes. This method of time travel often feels like a video game, where he is able to return to a save point anytime he dies until he makes it to another checkpoint. This does not make his journey easy by any means as he usually has enormous difficulty getting through the obstacles set before him.

At first Subaru can acts obnoxious because he believed he was some sort of awesome protagonist destined for greatness in his new fantasy world. However his little bubble is destroyed as he dies several times throughout the first episodes.

Characters

Our protagonist Subaru starts off as a loud mouthed and obnoxious and annoying character that you really just want to punch. However, once you finally hit the turning point you begin to feel for Subaru as he loses his life and has to go through so much suffering. You see Subaru begin to realize the seriousness of this world. He begins to mature as his mind gets completely broken. You see Subaru lose himself to madness only to snap out of it and become this righteous hero, but the hero part doesn’t happen right away. I honestly want to tell more about other characters but it would ruin the whole experience of this great anime.

My opinion on Re:Zero

This Anime might look like just another Isekai anime that brings nothing new to the table, which was also what I thought at the beginning. However as the pace started to speed up, the anime only got better and better and I got more intrigued by the story and the unique characters. The story starts off slow and slowly builds up to those dramatic, emotional and action filled moments that we all know and love.

My personal rating 7,8/10

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Anime Review

Media: Anime
Name: Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Fullmetal Alchemist
MAL Score: 9.24/10
Episodes: 64
Genres: Action, Military, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Magic, Fantasy, Shounen

Introduction

“Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” is an alternative retelling of Hiromu Orakawa’s manga, but comparing to the original anime series, it covers the whole story and has a more reasonable ending. This anime has easily taken its top place in all rankings due to its thrilling story, spectacular fights, rich world lore and etc.

Law of Equivalent Exchange

“In order for something to be obtained, something of equal value must be lost”. This is the core, on which alchemy is based. Alchemy is everything in the world of “Fullmetal Alchemist”. It is a local type of magic, that allows to create something out of something. But of course, there are different consequences and there are some restrictions for using it. For example, creating a person or a chimera (mix of different species, abomination) is forbidden, as it is dangerous and it hasn’t been successful before.

The setting

The story is about two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, who lost their mother, when they were kids, and who decided to revive her using the alchemy. As expected, it was a complete failure and both brothers lost a lot: Edward now uses the prothesis for his right hand and leg and Alphonse only’s got his soul attached to armor. Now they seek the Philosopher’s Stone, which can overcome the Law of Equivalent Exchange, to return Alphonse’s body. But slowly and steadily, they face the political repressions in the country and they find out the murky history of their country’s government, so their initial task comes on the second place.

“Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” is rich in interesting characters, who are unique to each other. Edward, while serving the military as the state alchemist, meets a lot of different people and creatures, that behave and live solely on their principles. For example, there are Seven Deadly Sins, who serve their creator, or Colonel Roy Mustang, who is seemingly harsh and cold to his colleagues, but he is really a caring and fair person.

Conclusion

Overall, it is understandable and pretty clear, why
the whole anime community treasures this anime . It consists of everything, that makes the anime really interesting and worth watching (and then rewatching multiple times). Furthermore, there have been several movies and specials, which boosted its popularity. The world of “Fullmetal Alchemist” has a lot of potential for development in novels, other series. Unfortunately, the story is told, and doubt we are getting something else from this universe. The only thing we can do is just rewatching the series – the classics never become outdated.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War Anime Review

Media: Anime
Name: Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen
MAL Score: 8.53/10
Episodes: 12
Genres: Comedy, Psychological, Romance, School, Seinen

Caution — There will be spoilers ahead.

Enter lead character Kaguya Shinomiya: a wealthy and talented student from Shuchiin Academy. Sheltered her whole life, Shinomiya doesn’t necessarily know how to interact with people and sees them as a tool to be used, not as a person to talk to and get to know. After joining the student council, all that starts to change. Don’t tell anyone — even if it’s pretty obvious — but Shinomiya is head-over-heels in love with Shirogane and the feelings are reciprocated! Though neither of them are daring enough to admit it. And so starts the war between two people — who will admit their undying affection to the other?

Story

The story of Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane is one packed with joy and excitement. Although they may not show it on the outside, we get to see the world through the eyes of each of the characters in shifts. We get to hear every thought that courses through the head of Shinomiya and then, in turn, through Shirogane. Back and forth in one episode they argue about who’s going to eat a piece of cake while in the next they argue about where to go during summer vacation only to realize, once they reach a decision, that they’d rather have it another way.

Characters

The development put into Kaguya Shinomiya is phenomenal. In the first episode, Shinomiya is cold and aloof to a point. Due to being smothered inside her whole life with her studies, she is unable to get close to people and make friends. In one episode, we get to see Shinomiya looking out the window of the limousine that takes her to school every day. There, she stares at the kids having fun with envy. By the end of the series, we have Shinomiya in tears because all she wants to do is watch the fireworks with her friends on the student council.

Enjoyment

Who knew that the war between two lovers could be so comedic? Throughout this anime, I found myself overwhelmed with laughter that was spilling uncontrollably forth. From the “love guru” Chika Fujiwara all the way to the hardworking Miyuki Shirogane, I found myself falling inlove with these characters and the story that unfolds.

My final rating for this series would be an eight out of ten. The way that the characters were portrayed works perfectly with the goal of the show. I’m not usually one for romance but I love psychological anime. Who knew the two would mix so well.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The most hype anime to exist! 🔥🔥

Media: Anime
Name: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Gurren Lagann)
MAL Score: 8.72/10
Episodes: 27
Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Mecha, Sci-Fi, Shonen

No Spoilers at All

Where do I begin with this anime? This anime in all honesty is the most fun I’ve had in awhile. When I thought the anime couldn’t one up itself it just keeps going and just shoots through the roof and doesn’t stop. The best way I can describe the animes over the top-ness is; “It’s so extreme with their own ideas it will always want to one-up it’s own idea with an even more EXTREME AND EPIC concept”. It takes the common tropes of Mecha/Sci-Fi animes and just parodies it and dials that stuff to 200.

Summary

When watching this anime throw out all logic, throw out everything you’ve learnt about life and anime. This anime is best watched with your brain turned off and just enjoy the experience. Enough with praising and get down to the juicy juicy meat. This anime is as Mech and Sci-Fi you can get I have never thought about touching Mecha’s but this just hooked me in. It takes the most imaginative ideas from their own team then runs with it at light speed and hits you over the head with its ridiculousness. It may contain 27 episodes but I damn felt like it was 12. I personally felt so engrossed with this anime I just wanted to watch one after another like there was no care in the world about time or commitments.

Note: This anime is very shonen as it can get; even if you dislike the genre I just want you to just give this anime a shot it’s so worth your time.

Context

I don’t want to spoil anything to much about the characters or the plot, so I’m just going to give the most simple and straight to the point with the Main Characters personalities and a very generalised plot synopsis.

Characters

Kamina: The idolic older sibling that motivates you to no end. He will achieve his goals in the most roundabout way. He is the life and blood of the main characters Ideals.
“Do not believe in yourself. But believe me, I believe in you”

Simon: He idolizes Kamina and wants to be just as great as him. He has his own quirks and flaws but he does everything in his power to GO BEYOND his own limitations and achieve something he never thought he could.

“MY DRILL IS THE ONE THAT PIERCES THE HEAVENS”

Yoko: This is the love interest between the main characters but she don’t have time for that she’s a freaking boss with her sniper rifle and she’s very effective with a majority of weapons. She motivates the characters and she’s fundamental to both of the characters drive.

I really want to go into my details about the other characters but I want to leave that delicious part for you to experience.

Plot

In a desolate dangerous and unforgiving world where a majority of civilisation live in massive underground communities. A band of heroes decide to break free from these chains and achieve things that they could have never of thought of accomplishing.

Conclusion

Overall I just want to want you to just give this anime a shot. It’s so worth every second. There’s so much passion in every aspect of this every up and down the characters experience has so much passion in it. Don’t EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE STELLAR MUSIC TRACK.

Fun Trivia: 40% of the total budget used was dedicated to the last 5 episodes of the anime and the money is well spent. You will experience something that will leave you speechless.

Score

So my scoring system I rate each aspect of the anime out of 5 and there is a total of 5 categories:

Art: 🖌️🖌️🖌️🖌️
Music: 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
Plot: 📖📖📖
Hype: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Enjoyability: 😂😂😂😂😂

Art: 4
Music: 5
Plot: 3
Hype: 6
Enjoyability: 5

Editor Note: I know I literally just broke my own scoring system but gosh darn I just passionately love this anime and how unique it is. I do apologise for such a messy review, it’s my first ever review and would greatly appreciate feedback!

Megalo Box Anime Review

Media: Anime
Name: Megalo Box
MAL Score: 8.05/10
Episodes: 13
Genres: ActionSci-FiSlice of LifeSportsDrama

Megalo Box aired from April 6 2018 to Jun 29 2018 by studio TMS Entertainment tells us a story of underground fighter called Joe, also show is tribute to other very good, old title called “Ashita no Joe”, review can contain minor spoilers, with this lets start.

Story

Story take place in indefinite future, and tells us story of underground illegal fighter who takes name “Joe”, as his life is mainly filled with non-interesting events and set matches, till day when he mets official world-box champion – Yuuri and fight with him… what kind of story and destiny awaits those two? Did Joe will reach “top of the world” as underdog? See and watch for yourself.

Characters

Main focus is on two characters – Joe and Yuuri, their pasts, struggles and current problems, there is also bunch of other important characters like Joe’s coach – Nanbu, Shirato family, or syndicate boss – Fujimaki and few others.

Joe – “Underdog” and talented fighter, is rather cheerful and confident person, strong mentally and physically gives us rather interesting protagonist, he is equivalent of “ashita no joe” main character – Joe

Yuuri – Current champion – World strongest fighter, usually have rather confident personality, but also kinda bored and even bit arrogant attitude to due not worthy/interesting opponents, he is equivalent of Tooru Rikiishi in “Ashita no joe”.

Nanbu – Always struggling with debts, scared of many things Joe’s coach,he is the one who sets fights for Joe and also went through biggest mental changes in entire show, what they are? See for yourself. Overall Megalo box have rather interesting pack of characters with many faces and various personalities.

Music

Personally for me best part of entire Megalo Box, amazing amount of various music, with many, many great songs like even memorable main theme of the show “Megalo Box”, sachio theme, bangachi theme and many others, with various genres of music, nicely fitting most scenes.

For final summary

Megalo Box is pretty decent drama/sports show with plenty of character development, climatic vibe and scenes, great soundtrack (which made some scenes even more “powerful” or just great), struggles and drama, fights is pretty good story for me, if you are looking for something more character focused along with sports and unique vibe – I can easily recommend Megalo Box.

Black Clover Anime Review

Media: Anime
Name: Black Clover
MAL Score: 7.01/10
Episodes: Currently Airing
Genres: ActionComedyMagicFantasyShounen

No spoilers beyond episode 5

Black Clover starting airing 7th October 2017 and is being published by TV TOKYO. Black Clover has continuously released new episodes every week since.  As of today there currently is 81 episodes.

Story

The story of Black Clover takes place in a magical “medieval” like world, were magic is everything. Every single person in this world is able to use magic and when a person reaches 15 years of age they will receive a Grimoire. A book that will enhance the magical power of it’s wielder and works as way for the wielder to learn new spells. Though there is a huge variety of magic types, some common, some rare, some legendary and some unknown.

Characters

The first time we see our two protagonists Asta and Yuno, we see them as infants as they were left by an old church. As they grow up there is a huge difference in their personalities, Asta is loud and determined and Yuno is mature and wise, yet they both have the same goal which is to become the Wizard King, this results in the them being friendly rivals.

Their personality is the 100% opposite of eachother and the same goes for their magical power. Yuno is basically a genius and Asta possess no magical power whatsoever. This has resulted in Asta being looked down upon and him being humiliated multiple times. When it’s finally time for our main protagonists to receive their Grimoires at a ceremony Yuno is chosen by the Legendary four leaf clover Grimoire which prompts a group of nobles to voice their hate for this “lowborn scum” receiving such a powerful Grimoire. Yet Asta is left with no Grimoire, which is something that has never happened before. Asta being so determined as he his, doesn’t let this get in his way of becoming the Wizard King. The title of Wizard king meaning the most powerful mage in the Clover kingdom. But it doesn’t take long for Asta to get chosen by an “unknown” grimoire that only a few select people know of, yet the people who have knowledge on this grimoire decides to keep their mouth shuts.

My personal opinion on Black Clover

The first 5 – 10 episodes start of slow with the animation, story and details but it all changes around episode 15, as we got more detailed animation and the city scenes become unique and interesting which really changes the whole vibe of the show.

By Episode 60 we know the names of the characters and we know a significant amount of information regarding the characters background yet we are still left with  many questions such as What is the strange unknown power of Asta’s grimoire etc.

The pace of the anime is not slow at all, 1 arc usually only take up to 5-ish episodes yet we are always meet with hints of the next arc which only leaves us with more questions and a thirst for more episodes. If I told you more about Black Clover I’m sure you would watch it, but I don’t wish to spoil it for you, therefore go watch it yourself

My rating 8.9/10
